About Your Tools
Finding the right support can be tough, but you don’t have to do it alone.
Working with others can be easier when we have some tools. Tools are things we use to help us work towards a goal. Just as a hammer is important to getting a nail secured in a board, and a map can help you find a destination, these tools were created to help you when working with others as you take care of your mental health.
Some tools are just for you, some are for you and your caregiver(s)/support workers, and some are for clinicians. If you’d like, you can give the clinician tools to your provider so they can get to know you and your needs more clearly.

Using the Tools
The IMPACT tools are designed to support FASD-informed mental health care. Although each tool is created with one primary audience in mind (i.e., service providers, individuals with FASD, or caregivers), they are flexible and you may find other ways to use them as well.
Some of the tools below have a User Guide document, which provides further background information in addition to the Tool version. The User Guides are intended to facilitate the use of the Tools. If a Tool includes both a User Guide and Tool version, we recommend looking at both to ensure you review all the relevant information to see how each Tool may be useful to you.

Tools for Individuals with FASD
Tools to Use With Your Service Provider
These tools can be taken to service providers or caregivers for collaborative use.

RELATIONAL CLARITY AGREEMENT
Shows the roles and responsibilities of everyone in therapy, like the person with FASD, caregivers, and providers. It can be used as a fillable agreement to have clear conversations about everyone's roles and responsibilities throughout the therapeutic process.

THERAPEUTIC GOAL PLANNING AND OUTCOME MONITORING
Helps you engage in collaborative goal setting with people with FASD and their families. There are templates to monitor treatment outcomes and gather feedback from both individuals with FASD and their caregivers. These tools encourage open conversations, help track progress, and strengthen the partnership between everyone involved.
